The HS Band's final performance is coming up, and it is for a special audience-- our 2014 graduates and their families. Our band has been given the honor of performing at our graduation ceremony. We will be providing music before, during, and after the ceremony. As a special bonus, our 8th grade band students have been invited to help us out! Here's what you need to know:
On July 5th, all HS Band students (and incoming 8th grade students) have been invited our annual field trip to see a Drum Corps International competition in Michigan City.
This amazing event will showcase some of the best talent in instrumental music in the country, and will give your child a unique view into what is possible with dedication, discipline, and a consistent work ethic. The show will include hundreds of high school and college musicians performing at an incredible level. For more information, check out www.dci.org.
We will be meeting at Bremen High School in front of the auditorium to leave at 5:30 pm, and should return to the school by approximately 1:00 am. Students should bring money for dinner at McDonalds, and tickets cost $25.
This is an outdoor event; students should wear sun block and appropriate clothing to be outside.
Ticket money and permission slips are due back to the band office by Friday, May 30. Permission slips have been handed out to the students today in class. As space is limited at the events, we will not be able to take permission slips late; the tickets will be ordered on that Friday afternoon.
We are also looking for some band parents to be chaperons for the event! The cost is the same; please let us know on the permission slip below if you would be interested.
Thank you, and we look forward to going on this trip with you!
Student lose the permission slip? Print out a new copy here.
Our final band concert is nearly upon us; here is what you need to know:
The evening should be an entertaining one, with music from the band Fun, a gorgeous Irish tune by Hazo, a rock ballad by Queen, and even some Chinese Folk Songs. Stay for both concerts if you can-- it is worth it!
As always, performance at concerts is required for the students, and represents a culmination of our curricular work during the previous term. If you have questions about the attendance policy, please consult your band handbook.
We look forward to seeing all of you there; invite your friends and family!
The Bremen High School Jazz Band is looking for talented players for the 2014-2015 school year. The following openings are available:

Auditions will be held on Tuesday May 27 in the band room between 3-5 pm.
Music to be prepared for the audition can be found outside the band room office. If you have any questions about the music, please speak with Mr. Sutton.
Proper preparation is essential to success! To listen to an example of your audition music performed well, click here.
